CTC M-702 is a thread compound specifically formulated to provide smooth make-up and breakout of threaded connections. It contains a significant concentration of rust and corrosion inhibitors along with an H2S inhibitor which no other moly contains! For decades, moly has been recognized for its lubricity under pressure and its ability to pack solidly and smoothly into the pores of metal surfaces, giving a slicker fastening surface.
CTC M-702 contains over 70% pure molybdenum disulfide (moly), more than any other moly paste available. Allows for use of up to 40% lower torque values than other standard lubricants such as API GA. (Use Friction Coefficient of .061) (K Factor of 0.11). This enables the use of smaller, lighter, and less expensive tooling on applications.
CTC M-702 is recommended for use on all threaded connections, press fits and as a nut splitter chisel lubricant. It may also be used on seal rings, as a dressing for packing and 0-rings, as a wear-in lubricant and a variety of other applications where sliding friction is present. Recommended for use at temperatures not to exceed 750 degrees F.
This contains 65% solid lubricants suspended in a soft paste. A heavy, black paste with unsurpassed lubricating qualities, 503 is our most efficient lubricant in reducing friction. On threaded fasteners (bolts, nuts, studs, washers) the low uniform friction coefficient of 0.067 creates reliable assembly conditions with significantly lower torque. The lubricant then stays in place through heat, load and vibration to assure trouble free disassembly.
